Our Commitment: OvaryIt believes the internet should be available and accessible to anyone and is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or technology. We are actively working to ensure our Platform meets or exceeds modern accessibility standards so every visitor can find the information they need with ease.
Our Commitment to Accessibility
OvaryIT Holdings, Inc. ("OvaryIt," "we," or "us") is committed to ensuring that our Platform is accessible to people with disabilities. We strive to continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards to make that possible. Accessibility is a core part of how we build and maintain www.ovaryit.com and any associated websites or applications (collectively, the "Platform").
We believe that access to trustworthy, evidence-based women's health information is a right, not a privilege. That belief shapes how we design and develop everything on this Platform.
Conformance Status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. WCAG defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.
OvaryIt aims to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone. The Platform is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the accessibility standard.
Accessibility Features on Our Platform
We have taken the following measures to ensure accessibility across the Platform:
- Semantic HTML and landmarks. Pages are built with semantic HTML and ARIA landmarks so that assistive technologies can navigate content efficiently.
- Keyboard navigation. The Platform is designed to be fully operable using a keyboard, with visible focus indicators and a "skip to main content" link for quick navigation.
- Screen reader support. Content is structured with meaningful headings, labels, and alt text so screen readers can convey information accurately.
- Color contrast. We use color combinations that meet or exceed WCAG AA contrast ratios for text and interactive elements.
- Resizable text. Content can be resized up to 200% without loss of functionality.
- Descriptive link text. Links and buttons are labeled with clear, descriptive text that makes sense out of context.
- Form labels and error messages. Form inputs are paired with visible labels and clear, programmatically associated error messages.
- Responsive design. The Platform adapts to a wide range of screen sizes, orientations, and devices.
- Reduced-motion support. We respect user preferences for reduced motion wherever animation is used.
Compatibility with Browsers and Assistive Technology
The Platform is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies and browsers:
- Recent versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge on desktop and mobile.
- Screen readers including NVDA and JAWS on Windows, VoiceOver on macOS and iOS, and TalkBack on Android.
- Voice recognition software and keyboard-only navigation.
The Platform is not designed for legacy or unsupported browsers. Some features may not display or function correctly on browsers older than the most recent two major versions.
Known Limitations
Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of the Platform, there may be some limitations. Below is a list of known limitations and steps we are taking to address them. If you encounter an issue not listed below, please contact us.
- Third-party embedded content. Some third-party embeds (for example, podcast players and newsletter signup widgets) may not fully meet our accessibility standards. We are working with vendors to improve these experiences and provide accessible alternatives where possible.
- Legacy PDF documents. Older PDF resources may not be fully tagged for screen readers. We are gradually replacing these with accessible HTML pages or remediated PDFs.
- User-submitted content. We cannot guarantee the accessibility of content submitted by users (for example, comments or community posts), but we work to provide accessible tools for composing and reviewing that content.
Ongoing Efforts
Accessibility is an ongoing process, not a one-time project. We regularly review our Platform and incorporate accessibility into our development workflow. Our ongoing efforts include:
- Including accessibility as part of our design and code review process for new features.
- Running automated accessibility audits during development and before releases.
- Performing manual keyboard and screen reader testing on key user flows.
- Providing accessibility training and resources to our product and engineering team.
- Engaging with the disability community to gather feedback and improve the experience.
Assessment Approach
OvaryIt assesses the accessibility of the Platform through a combination of the following methods:
- Self-evaluation by our internal design and development team, using automated and manual testing tools.
- External review through periodic audits against WCAG 2.1 Level AA success criteria.
- User feedback collected from visitors to the Platform.
